1. THE COMMITTEE FOR WATER SAFETY & AWARENESS’ main goal
is to work within our community and with the public school system to
educate our community about the dangers of our waterways with the goal
of saving our childrens lives, due to the many lives that have been lost in
our waterways.
2. Educating the community about our waterways and their hazards such
as under currents, hazardous E.COLI levels, pollution issues and other
dangers of our waterways.
3. We will work within our community to make people aware of what they
can do to conserve water and keep from contaminating our water ways.
4.To make swimming in safe supervised areas and swimming lessons
available to all of the youth in our community thus fostering a positive
healthy development in our youth through physical fitness and positive
interaction with other children and adults in a fun environment.

The Committee for Water Safety & Awareness published this web page
as brief water safety guides, not intended to replace proper training,
which we recommend for all water activities. Whenever you and your
children are going to enjoy water recreational activities, safety should be
a main priority. With this web site CWSA hopes to provide you valuable
information on water safety and make you aware of hazards, as well as
things you can do to prevent drowning and polluting our water. Everyone
lives downstream from someone.... So we all need to make an effort not
to pollute our water ways.
CWSA is coordinating and participating in water safety & awareness
presentations in our schools and children’s organizations. CWSA
coordinated The Whale Tales Program into our public elementary
schools. We hope to get this valuable water safety program into all local
children’s organizations. CWSA distributes water safety & awareness
fliers through out Pueblo. We hope to keep our youth out of unsafe water
ways by implementing programs to help pay for children to take
swimming lessons and for kids to swim in supervised swimming pools. If
